I’m trying to decide what I’m going to do for my bathroom renovation. There are a lot of really good ideas here! I think it would be awesome to have adjustable lights at the counter. I’ll have to give that a try.

These are some great tips, and I appreciate your advice to plan when designing a bathroom renovation. My husband and I have decided that we’re going to be remodeling our master bathroom, so we want to be prepared for that. I tend to wing things, but I’ll make sure to do a lot of planning so this project goes as smoothly as possible.

DON’T use pedestal sinks unless it’s a small powder room where storage is not a concern. Vanities with hidden storage are always desirable if you have the space.

Excellent tips! Add some decor, too. Like a piece of wall art and indoor plants. But only if you have enough space for them.

I think free standing bathtubs, whilst they sometimes look good, will go out of favour because there is nowhere to put bathing items such as soap, shampoo, brushes etc. Placing a freestanding stool next to the bathtub is a ridiculous option because it and the floor gets wet and soapy. A shelf ends up the same way. The across the bathtub things are awkward and get in the way. Furthermore, freestanding tubs make it a lot harder to clean around them. That’s why bathtubs progressed to built in ones. They are far more practical.

I would have to say I agree with you, but I still like the look of a free standing bath.
